LE studios is a dance school in Leicester specializing in dance and movement classes for children and young adults with special needs.
We are one of only two dance studios in the country specializing in dance classes for people with special needs. We offer dance classes across the spectrum of disabilities (autism, downs syndrome, cerebral palsy, wheelchair dance etc.). The classes are based on the ‘Dancing for Joy' syllabus developed in London by Alessendre Angelina, based on the work of Dr Ronald Heavey MBE.
Dance and movement are excellent mediums to develop a young persons awareness, it makes them look, listen and respond. Even behavioural problems can be helped by dance by boosting the young persons self discipline.
At a basic level, running, jumping and hopping are taken for granted by able bodied young people but for those who find them harder what better way to learn and develop these skills than through the exciting medium of dance?
